Case profile
This Florida hotspot sits among many tourist attractions and, of course, plenty of competition. The goal was more visibility across the web for fishing tourists looking for accommodation at a full-service resort. We started with the vital SEO components, from 301 redirects to on-page execution, to improve listings and keyword positions. We then built a content strategy, worked with other site owners on guest content to raise domain authority, kept the site current and improved mobile-friendliness for the user experience.
The challenge
Anglers plan Lake Okeechobee trips months ahead and compare marinas, guides and lodging in the same search session. The resort's site had broken redirects from an earlier version, dated pages and a poor mobile experience, which hurt it with the travelers who research on a phone.
What we did
- Fixed 301 redirects and on-page fundamentals across the site.
- Content strategy for fishing seasons, tournaments, lodging and the marina.
- Guest content and outreach with related travel and fishing sites.
- Mobile usability improvements.
- Ongoing updates to keep seasonal information accurate.
The results
In three months, users increased 150% (25,682 vs 10,256), sessions 172% and page views 231%. See more hotel SEO case studies.
